How Does a St. Louis Artist End Up Hanging Out at a Museum with Ozzy Osbourne?

Simple. It was on their calendars

Artist, Lisa Ober woke up in Seattle, taught the last day of her workshop then flew home and spent the afternoon with the Prince of Darkness at the AKC Museum of the Dog.

How Did That Happen?

Lisa was contacted several months ago by the production company that works with A&E for Ozzy and Jack's World Detour. The funny and informative show was planning on filming in Missouri and they were looking on behalf of Jack (Ozzy's son) for someone who could create a painting of Ozzy with his beloved dog, Rocky. The painting was to be placed in Ozzy's honor with the AKC Museum of the Dog which is located just outside of St. Louis.

Lisa's immediate response was "Hey, I live near there, and I love Ozzy!  I'll do itI

A Once in a Lifetime Commission (Adventure)

Lisa explained that the "the ultimate unveiling of the portrait was a surprise from Ozzy's son Jack, so she had to keep everything a secret while she worked with Jack on particulars.

"That was difficult. 'You mean I can't tell anyone that I have the honor of painting one of the world's most well known personalities?' Nope!"
"The painting was an artistic and technical challenge. I'll tell you about that someday. I completed the portrait, made arrangements to have it framed and wrapped by my friends at Cioci's Picture Mart, and it was delivered for the show's taping. Then I headed out of town to teach."
You'd think that might be the end of the great adventure, but it wasn't! Lisa was invited to attend the taping and unveiling of the portrait which was scheduled for her return date.

(Sorry, painting can no longer be shown on this site.)

The Gift of a Little Rocky

Realizing Ozzy was going to have to leave the large oil painting at the museum in St. Louis, Lisa thought she would surprise him with a little personal gift he could take home with him right away. While out of town, she painted a small portrait of Rocky.

"I think Rocky is the furriest, most beautiful Pomeranian I have ever seen. He's gorgeous and I can see why Ozzy loves him! "
Ozzy loved it and the Little Rocky now resides in Ozzy's collection.

Lisa, no one could be more proud of you than me! Funny thing is, I too just completed a portrait of a dog who was on the show “Fixer Upper”, but for now that’s all I can say! Congrats on the pastel set with your name on them. I will purchase a set! Much shared joy for you! XX

Awsome, Amazing, I was wondering since the airing on A&E you should consider printing 999 lithographs of Ozxy and Rocky. ( numbering each one ) As a customer i would be interested in owning one. Just send me my 10% for the idea. LoL congratulations. You are truely an amazing artist.

Hi Harry! Thank you for the thoughtful compliments. I really appreciate it! Your idea is a really good one but A&E holds the copyright on the painting so they could certainly create prints if they wanted to do that. Sadly, I cannot. Thanks again for the nice words and for taking the time to write!
