Definition: A still life (plural still lifes) is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural or man-made. Objects are often arranged to tell stories, call the viewer's attention to something, or depict the beauty in everyday objects that often goes unnoticed.
